GastroPlus is a computer program for Windows 95/98/NT/2000
& XP platforms that simulates absorption and pharmacokinetics
for orally dosed drugs. The underlying model is the Advanced
Compartmental Absorption and Transit (ACAT) model - an extension
of work originally done by Gordon Amidon and Lawrence Yu.
GastroPlus includes:
Physiological models for human (fasted and fed),
beagle dog (fasted and fed), rat, mouse, rabbit and cat
Peff converter to convert user-measured permeability
to human in vivo Peff
pH-dependent solubility and logD models
Dissolution dependence on particle size and particle
density
One-, two-, or three-compartment pharmacokinetics
Controlled release dosage forms including gastric
retention, dispersed release and integral tablet
Automatic model fitting and formulation design (with
optional Optimization Module)
Saturable gut & liver metabolism and gut transport
(with optional Metabolism and Transporter Module)
Ability to simultaneously fit pharmacokinetic parameters
to IV and oral data
In Vitro - In Vivo Correlation (with optional IVIV
Correlation Module)
