Unlike some quasi decision-support tools available on PDA’s, the TheraDoc Antibiotic Assistant is much more than digitized reference material. The TheraDoc Antibiotic Assistant provides a first line recommendation and alternative recommendations that take into consideration the patient’s sex, age, height, weight and renal function. Allergies and mitigating conditions (e.g. pregnancy, nursing mother) are considered when appropriate. All recommendations are dose adjusted for the patient with the proper duration of care indicated, as well as any relevant caveats.
