Avatar Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) provides nurses and other authorized staff with an efficient online process for charting medication administration.
Avatar eMAR is designed to replace the traditional paper MAR, and is integrated with Avatar Order Entry (a CPOE application) for inpatient environments, and with InfoScriber, Netsmart’s leading Web-based e-prescribing application. Medication orders recorded through either of these applications automatically appear within the Avatar eMAR.
Authorized staff using Avatar eMAR can switch from patient to patient within Avatar eMAR’s main menu. To assure patient confidentiality and safety, Avatar eMAR provides multiple patient identifiers -- ID number, Medical Record Number, patient name, gender, date of birth, and photograph -- to help verify the identity of each patient. This facilitates compliance with the National Patient Safety Goals as provided by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
